Ways to come up with blog post ideas

Now that you’ve come up with a topic to write about, it’s time to think of ways to get more ideas. What happens when you’re in front of your computer and simply can’t think of any more ideas? There are lots of different things you can do to trigger your brain and get it coming up with ideas once again. Here are some tips for getting back on track when your creative juices start drying up!

Ways to come up with great headlines

In our experience, coming up with great headlines isn’t about natural talent. While some writers are certainly better at it than others, it’s a skill that can be mastered with practice. One of our favorite go-to strategies is to look for catchy advertising. If you read through a lot of magazines and websites, you’ll notice that many good ads use very interesting phrases in their headlines. It may take some time to find them all—and then even more time to get inspired by them—but after you build up a headline library, it becomes very easy to think of new catchy phrases when you need them!

Two Types of Outlines

There are two types of outlines that you can use to get ideas when writing your content. The first type of outline is a traditional list of items, while the second uses visual cues instead. There is value in both approaches, but if you have trouble brainstorming lists and organizing information, a visual outline might be easier for you to work with. If you prefer more traditional outlines then stick with that; most people naturally learn by using lists so using them shouldn’t be seen as wrong or incorrect. What’s more important is that your outline gets results and helps you brainstorm new topics—not what style it is in.
